Occupation Lists for Australian Visas

If you want to work or migrate to Australia, one of the first things to check is whether your occupation is on an Australian skilled occupation list. These lists show the occupations that may be eligible for certain Australian visas.

The main occupation lists used for skilled and employer-sponsored visas are:

Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL) — Subclass 482 & 186 visas
Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) — Subclass 189, 190, 491, 485 & 407 visas
Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) — Subclass 190, 491 & 407 visas
Regional Occupation List (ROL) — Subclass 494 visa

Your occupation being on one of these lists does not automatically mean you qualify for a visa. You will also need to meet the other requirements of the relevant visa.
